Lina is Founder and President of Forever Healed, a 501c3 non-profit whose vision is to continually help people recover from the impact of death, divorce, and other losses and to help them bridge the gap between the feelings of despair and healing. In this capacity, Lina facilitates grief recovery classes (1:1 and group sessions) in a nurturing and safe environment, as well as provides the tools needed for recovery: to those dealing with incomplete emotions to include anxiety and depression due to a death, divorce or other loss. The non-profit also offers after school grief sessions to administrators, educators, and school counselors. They also provide grief and mentoring sessions to children who are dealing with feelings of despair and depression as a result of a loss (divorce, death, incarcerated parent, bullying).
Lina has presented The Hidden Cost of Grief presentation in the workplace to military personnel, corporate organizations, and churches. Her civic participation within the Richmond community includes overseeing the youth ministry, and contributions to the intercessory team and ministerial staff at her church. Lina has partnered with the Commonwealth’s Attorney Office Homicide Support Group as a motivational speaker and resource to families who have endured pain and loss as a result of homicide. She is also on the Bereavement Coalition Leadership Planning Committee. In July 2017, Lina was licensed as a Minister of the Gospel.
Lina is passionate about assisting those grieving with overcoming their pain. After taking a grief recovery class, Lina was able to heal from years of physical, mental, and verbal abuse as a child. Lina believes that often times our condition causes us to forget our true purpose in life. In reality, our positions can change our conditions. We are fearfully and wonderfully made, even in the midst of a challenge. We should change our mindsets about being a survivor (outliving a situation) and learn to become more than conquerors in every situation by healing from the inside out.
