Every June 12th, we pause with gratitude and reverence to recognize the unsung heroes among us—our nation’s women veterans. Women Veterans Recognition Day isn’t just a date on the calendar—it’s a call to remember, reflect, and respect the women who answered the call to serve, protect, and lead with courage.
For far too long, the stories and struggles of women veterans have been under-acknowledged. But that’s changing. And today, we celebrate that shift.
The Hidden Strength of Women in Uniform
Women have served in every major conflict in U.S. history—even when they weren’t officially recognized as veterans. Today, over 2 million women have worn the uniform of the United States Armed Forces. These women have broken barriers, led battalions, served on the front lines, and supported critical missions across the globe. Yet many still face a different kind of battle when the uniform comes off.
Behind the Salute: The Emotional Toll
For some, life after service brings peace and purpose. For others, it brings a complex journey of grief, trauma, transition, and healing. The invisible wounds—like PTSD, loss of identity, or the pain of military sexual trauma—don’t always show up in photos or discharge papers. That’s why Forever Healed exists.
We see you. We honor your silent strength. We create space for healing.
Our Commitment to Women Veterans
As an organization rooted in compassion and restoration, Forever Healed is proud to support women veterans through our grief and wellness programming. Whether you’ve lost a fellow service member, faced personal hardship during or after deployment, or are simply navigating the transition to civilian life, we offer a safe, supportive place for you to process and heal.
Here’s why this matters: Healing isn’t weakness. It’s leadership. When women veterans are empowered to heal emotionally, spiritually, and mentally, they reclaim their strength in powerful new ways.
How You Can Show Support
- Listen with empathy. Every veteran’s story is unique. Let’s hold space without assumptions.
- Advocate for services. Mental health and grief support are essential, not optional, for veteran wellness.
- Honor their presence. Whether it’s in your family, community, or workplace, recognize and celebrate the women who’ve served.
- Join us. Consider partnering with Forever Healed or referring a woman veteran to one of our healing sessions.
To Every Woman Veteran:
We see your service. We honor your sacrifices. And we walk alongside you on the path to healing.
Today and every day, Forever Healed salutes you. 💜
