Grief is the change or end of a familiar pattern or routine. There are more than 40 losses that can attribute to feelings of grief and pain. Grieving is never easy. It can be long and difficult and raw. But when life was “normal” before the COVID-19 pandemic, there were many social supports in place to help that process.
Visits from friends, going into an office to work, going to the gym to workout; or attending Group and individual counseling sessions. Some of our routines have ended or changed as we are now doing most of these things virtually. As a result, it may be difficult for some of us to get back motivated to a workout routine and properly caring for ourselves. In finding connections and self-coping, we are often told to take care of ourselves. Taking care of ourselves can be simple – rest, eat properly, do a little exercise, walk around the house, get some fresh air.
